STREET ART #265 – Tropical inspired art along the metro line, Mauritius

When I was in Mauritius last year, I found out that many of the metro stations are decorated with beautiful street art. This year I haven't seen anything new at any of the metro stations. This piece is found along the metro line only a short ride from the main station, Victoria Station. I did see it last year, from the train, but without finding out how to get to it. This time I happened to be at the road below the line. When I walked one of the streets, crossing the metro railway tracks, I noticed it. I had to walk a few meters along the track to get to it.

The text is in the local Creole language and means something like "life is a beautiful journey". The motif has a tropical aura. Plants and birdlife on the island are what we see here. Mauritius is a tropical island with quite a variety when it comes to plants and wildlife. It was happy to finally get close to the last of the paintings along the metro line. Last year I did wonder which road I had to take to get here.
