STREET ART #216 – Beautiful mural by Innerfields (Denmark)

I found this beautiful mural in Skørping, Denmark. The artist behind the mural is Innerfields in 2021. Innerfields consists of Holger Weissflog and Jakob Bardou. They are both from Berlin where they were born. It was in 1998 their collaboration began. During all the years since then, they have been around the world, participating in lots of street-art festivals. Figurative imagery with themes within society and environment, is probably what they are most known for. They did this mural as part of the Out in the open mural project by KIRK Gallery in 2021.

They have given the mural the title «Pioneer». There is a sign on the building where the artists describe their artwork and explain how to understand it.

They explain that the world is an enormous cosmos where miracles happens. Especially for the children who explores with lots of curiosity. During their play they create visuel worlds. During the Covid-19 pandemic, children experienced fear that did impact the everyday life, especially for the children around the world. The two artists saw the importance of creating a visual world where a child can see the world from another and more playful angle.

I haven't seen any work from these two, so I was happy to see this beautiful mural when I was in Denmark.
