avatar

This photo was taken near Okonjima in Namibia. Africat Foundation is foundation specializing in helping the big cats through a rehabilitation programme. Usually the cats have been found abandoned as young cubs. The foundation try to help them to provide for them selves so that they can be released into the wild. They have a big area. Even it is fenced we had to do som driving to spot some of them. This photo is my entry to @photofeed contest https://ecency.com/hive-153349/@photofeed/photofeed-contest-wildlife-photography-round-5e7e7533b120a

A cat one would not wish to meet in the wild, I have much more respect for Leopard vs Lion toward humans, they blend into most bushveld, are fast and very efficient killers.

Excellent capture of this one relaxing.

I actually do feel this cat might be more dangerous. I have only seen a few on the African continent. Lions were more easily spotted in both South-Africa and Namibia..

Lion is stronger normally in a pride, Leopard often loners when caught unaware or old, living here have heard of more incidents involving them, not that it happens often.

Oh, so that is the difference between these cats. Thanks for the info. I will keep that in mind when I travel to South-Africa, Zimbabwe and Botswana next year. I will be visiting Chobe N.P.
