📸 PhotoFeed Contest - Landscape Photography #182 : Sunset on a tropical island
The photo was taken while on vacation on the island of Mauritius. It is late in the afternoon in the south-western corner. The rock formation in the background is Le Morne, which is a UNESCO World Heritage site. During the colonial period slaves were working on the sugar fields. Some escaped up the mountain and kept hidden. One day they saw soldies on horseback. They thought they were coming for them. They threw themselves from the top.
