📸 PhotoFeed Contest - Black & White Photography #132 : Bundestag, the German Paliament building

This glas dome is famous and one of the most visited places in Berlin Germany. The building is housing the German Parliament. Even we could not visit any parts of the building, except for the dome, it was worth coming here. When inside the dome, there is information on display, but the best is the walk that took us to the top of the dome. The dome has a weight of 800 ton. All steel and glass. It messures 40 meters in diameter and has a hight of 23 meters. What you see on the photos, are people walking the spiral paths that winds it way up to a platform and then down again to the roof of the building.

The part of the building you don't see on the photos was built between 1884 and 1894. When Berlin became the capital of the German Empire in 1871, they needed a building to house the government. It was damaged during the war and because of that it was not in use for quite some time. This architecture is truly impressive.
Have a great day
It's definitely a cool building. Even I had seen photos of it many times, it was an amazing experience to be there 🙂
Yes, there are walkways to see the parliament below, right? It's really symbolic, as if citizens can keep an eye on their representatives.
When I was there, we only had access to the Dome. Any walkways, were not open to us, I am not sure if it has something to do with the time of day we were here... Late afternoon.
Beautiful shots. The angles make it look abstract but artistic.
Thanks. It is such an awesome building 🙂
