📸 PhotoFeed Contest - Black & White Photography #108 : Impressive building

This is the St. Magnus Cathedral in Kirkwall, Orkney island. This impressive church dates back to the 12th century. It is huge when you are standing in front of it. Just as impressive when you enter. As you might see on the photo, you can feel the space of it when standing inside the front door, as i am doing when taking the photo. This building is dominating the city center of Kirkwall because of its size. At that time and for many years to follow, the islands was under Norse rule. I did get a feeling of this connection to Norway when inside. Many small written notes and signs inside are evidens of that period in the history of the islands.
