Grand Baie – a popular destinations on the island of Mauritius

Grand Baie is not a big city, but one of the bigger ones on the island of Mauritius in the Indian Ocean. It is located in the northern part of the island and by the sea. Those who choose to stay here during their holiday here, will have lots of things to do, besides going to one of the beaches. It's a good town for tourists. Anyone who likes activities related to the sea won't be bored here. There are lots of activities such as snorkelling, diving, boat trips, fishing. You can go on organized diving trips, fishing trips and catamaran trips to the island of Ile Gabrielle. It is a full-day trip with lunch on board or on the island. Although the town is small, it has no less than 10 nightclubs, lots of bars, restaurants and shops. In all price ranges. You can chose to go to the local bazaar with local products, or to international fashion stores.

The town has lots of tour operators who organize full-day tours to other parts of the island. Furthermore, Grand Baie is only 1/2 hour by bus from the capital Port Louis. What I like the most is to walk along the beach. Because the town is located on the north-western part of the country, the sun sets here. To walk this stretch of beach late in the afternoon, is popular among both locals and tourists.
