Celebrating Raven's Birthday
Yesterday, March 18, it was my sister's birthday. We also celebrated the birthday of her son and our father. But in this post, I will be focusing on my nephew's birthday.
March 14 is the birthday of my father and my nephew, Raven. He is now 16 years old. He is my sister's oldest son. Unfortunately, his father died few years ago but us, his uncles and grandparents, never stop loving and supporting him and all his siblings.
Like his father, he is also good at playing chess. He tells us that he joined in his school chess club. He also played chess with their club's president and beaten his leader twice over two games. He's also been offered to join the chess team but unfotunately, the inter-school tournament is already on going before he even joined the chess club. Maybe he will join the next other tournaments. But, he is still allowed playing but not officially a valid contestant. Maybe it is just a training for him.
I noticed him wearing a new headphones. The last time is saw him, he only use headset. So, we also talked about music he listen to. I sent him some of my favorite reggae and relax song so he will also hear and appreciate non-mainstream musics.
Almost all of my favorite song are from local and undervalued music. Some of the band I'm listening are from the bands that we met on our past gigs.
We celebrated their birthdays at Tyvo, a resto bar in Marikina City, Philippines. We noticed that they also have billiard tables there and we played a bit. My oldest brother taught Raven how to handle and use the billiard stick. He got it right away and I told him that I will take pictures of him because it is his first time playing billiards.
This is when I told him to hold my father's beer and I will take picture of him. He is just 16 and he is still not allowed to drink liquor with the family. Our family is heavy drinkers and everytime there was a birthday celebration on our younger family member, I always asked them their age and giving them a countdown for them to wait so they can drink with us. And I told him, "Oh, it's just 2 years. Then you will be able to drink with us". Haha.
I don't know, but maybe he already taste liquor when he is with his friends. LoL.
I will not disagree cause I've been started drinking since I was 1st year high school. LoL.
