How to create a photography Lightbox

(Edited)

The first try. It's not bad.

*Repetition is the mother of learning, the father of action, which makes it the architect of accomplishment.” ― Zig Ziglar *

Since I started again making various objects of clay, resin, etc ... I need a way to take better photos. It's not a problem with the camera than a light. I'm not too fond of flashes and have no except one on the camera.
I wanted to get a light box and then "-I could make it myself" crossed my mind when I was looking at Christmas and New Year lights-decorations. So DIY is my choice.

First I took the:
-cardboard box,
-scissors,
-glue,
-scalper,
-tape,
-Christmas tree lights - small with batteries.
-matte paper,
-baking paper,
-ruler
-pencil ...
I choose a cardboard box too large (too long) for the objects I want to photograph.

I cut one side:

...and the upper part...

...spread glue on the sides and the bottom and placed the paper...

not the best phone for photography

On the upper part, I glued the LEDs (a little sloppy)

It's not bad, but the light is dim.
and:((((
Diodes are reflected on a shiny object.

I will take the led strips and connect them to the transformer.

For now, I will try something else:
.
I put some baking paper on top and turned on the desk lamp.

-desk lamp nad diodas. Colors are good but... reflection.

IMG_20221222_225718.jpg
-only desk lamp
It could do with a bit of processing in PS and maybe put another piece of baking paper. Here the lamp is too far from the box.

All photos were taken with a phone, not a camera because I was only interested in the light.
I will have to take led strips and place them in some kind of channel, and these little diodes go on the Christmas tree.
Thank you

Greetings @desro, a little over a month ago I read about the light box, and I imagined something similar to what you did, for a first attempt it looks good, and as you use it you will make the corresponding adjustments, thanks for sharing.

Merry christmas!

Thank you very much @belkyscabrera. No one knows what this will look like until the end.:)

I built one a while back but instead of cutting the top out I cut the sides and covered it with cheesecloth. Didn't have any problems with the reflections but it was a little dim, although nothing a tripod and a longer exposure couldn't handle. I wonder if layering the baking paper would make it diffuse the light more?

Thank you very much @coloneljethro. There is not much difference between one and two papers.

Haha, I did something similar a few years ago in a similar way.
Great idea!

Try to move the lamp a little further, because there is only one beam of light (and a strong one) falling from above.
Although I would still try it with daylight....

This "skalamerija" will probably have lamps up and on both sides by the end. But nothing like daylight, which is very weak and short these days.

Day 2:
Yes, @coloneljethro gave me an excellent suggestion to make openings on the side. But first I went through all the better electrical stores this morning. I tried to explain to them what I needed and I felt like I was buying an island and not a LED strip.
I made the holes, cut out the upper part that made the shadow, trimmed the edges a bit (covered them with tape), and covered the box with completely new baking paper :)
After all, I needed only one first-aid bandage tape.

I did buy something though for $3

I made a lamp and placed it on a stand of an old broken one that easily bends in all directions.

It didn't turn out bad at all!!!

@alt3r this weekend, I will take beautiful photos in the daylight.
And I will definitely use the box...sometimes.
