7 lucky elephants
In the previous post, I wrote about how I made a cutter.
I tested it right away, but since then I've made six more, sanded them to exhaustion, varnished and glued the pins.
I have made them of various colours so that, they are bright and eye-catching. Even two of them are part of fluorescent polymer clay and glow in the dark. You can't see it here, but the reflective part is fluorescent.
I used sandpapers with different grain sizes... 180, 360 (I don't have a photo) 800, 1000, 2000. I still needed 600, but finished without it.

Polymer clay should be sanded wet or in water with waterproof sandpaper.
Afterwards, I washed, wiped and varnished the brooches. I applied two layers of varnish. Sometimes, when the second layer is dry, I sand them again with 2000 sandpaper and apply a third layer of varnish. This is recommended when varnishing wood, but I do the same sometimes with polymer clay.
I put small silicone molds when I varnish, so the edges of the brooch don't touch the base. Molds are smaller than brooches.
For now, I'm glueing the pins with an epoxy 2-component glue that dries really fast and is strong,
but I don't like the look of the back, I think I'll start with another layer of polymer clay and liquid clay to do it. It will be a problem for me when varnishing, but I will manage.
Photography is light painting, so in the dark, I couldn't quite successfully photograph the fluorescent elephants, but you can still get an idea of what it looks like.
In the meantime, I made more brooches, etc. but with prints and epoxy resin. I printed some of my macro photos as greeting cards, as well.
Spring has arrived... Tomorrow we will talk about it 🤗🍀 More precisely, we will look at the photos.
