Intentando sembrar garbanzos en casa / Trying to plant chickpeas at home.

Siempre he sido un gran consumidor de garbanzos, me gusta mucho su sabor y textura, hace un mes, me surgió la curiosidad de conocer la planta de la que provienen estos granos, últimamente ando sembrando cualquier cosa que cae en mis manos así que decidí embarcarme en un pequeño experimento: sembrar garbanzos en casa pero únicamente con el fin de lograr ver la apariencia de la planta.

I have always been a great consumer of chickpeas, I really like their flavor and texture, a month ago, I was curious to know the plant from which these grains come, lately I have been sowing anything that falls into my hands so I decided to embark . in a small experiment: plant chickpeas at home but only in order to see what the plant looks like.

Preparé dos recipientes plásticos con tierra y coloqué dos semillas en cada uno. Los dejé en el patio durante la noche, pero al día siguiente, para mi sorpresa, las semillas de uno de los recipientes habían desaparecido, fui víctima de algún animal o insecto por lo que decidí continuar el experimento en el interior de la casa, sacando el recipiente sobreviviente al sol por las mañanas.

I prepared two plastic containers with soil and placed two seeds in each one. I left them in the patio overnight, but the next day, to my surprise, the seeds in one of the containers had disappeared, I was the victim of some animal or insect, so I decided to continue the experiment inside the house, taking out the container surviving the sun in the mornings.

Tras una semana, las semillas finalmente dieron señales de vida, su crecimiento fue lento en comparación con otras legumbres que he sembrado, pero observaba con detenimiento cada cambio en la pequeña planta, durante 10 días documenté su progreso de manera fotográfica, pero luego, al notar cambios mínimos, solo capturaba imágenes cuando observaba avances significativos.

After a week, the seeds finally showed signs of life, their growth was slow compared to other legumes I have planted, but I carefully observed every change in the small plant, for 10 days I documented its progress photographically, but then, when notice minimal changes, he only captured images when he observed significant progress.

La planta creció bien, con hojas verdes y un tallo firme, sin embargo, con el paso del tiempo, comenzó a secarse. Pensando que necesitaba más luz, la expuse más horas al aire libre, pero su estado no mejoró, luego, creí que moverla a diario la afectaba, así que la dejé definitivamente en el exterior, lamentablemente, a pesar de mis esfuerzos, la planta continuó marchitándose.

The plant grew well, with green leaves and a firm stem, however, as time went by, it began to dry out. Thinking that it needed more light, I exposed it to more hours outdoors, but its condition did not improve. Then, I believed that moving it daily was affecting it, so I permanently left it outside. Unfortunately, despite my efforts, the plant continued withering.

Aunque mi experimento no tuvo el final deseado, en perspectiva me permitió cumplir mi objetivo principal: Observar la apariencia de una planta de garbanzos. El proceso de crecimiento me enseñó paciencia y me recordó que, en la naturaleza, incluso con el mejor cuidado, algunas cosas no salen como se esperan.

Although my experiment did not have the desired outcome, in perspective it allowed me to fulfill my main objective: Observe the appearance of a chickpea plant. The growing process taught me patience and reminded me that in nature, even with the best care, some things don't go as expected.
