Such a great weekend

One of the best weekends in a very long time

This weekend seemed like it lasted a very long time. We did so much. Friday started off with my daughter's high school graduation ceremony. It was such a bittersweet moment.

It doesnt seem like it was that long ago that we were in Texas celebrating her preschool graduation. So much has happened in all of those years and it really seems like a dream. There was so much good and bad that happened over those years to make us the people that we are today and I am so proud of everyone in my family for the growth we have gone through during that time.

We visited my sister and her family. It is always good to see our nieces and nephews. My sister has such a large family, but each of her kids have their own individual personality and they are so fun.

She has seven biological children and two boys that they adopted from Haiti a couple years ago. It is always cool to see her adopted kids and see the fun little kids they are growing into. They have been through so much in their short lives and it is always great to see how they are adapting to this new life. My sister is in the final stages of adopting two more children from Haiti. A boy and a girl. Right now we are all just waiting for one of them to get their passport and then they will be ready to get them. It is such a long process and they have been going through this for the past four years, but it is nice that they are almost done with the process and will have those two children home soon.

On our way back home after visiting my sister, we stopped at a Hibachi grill for some Japanese food. This place is one of our favorite places to eat.

I think Hibachi is one of my favorite meals. I always get the fried rice, veggies, chicken and filet mignon. This particular restaurant is an all you can eat, so we like to load up on gyoza and spring rolls as well. We aren't much for eating sushi, but that it part of the all you can eat and when we would go with our daughter and her boyfriend, he would always get some sushi and he says it is really good.

My wife and I had a paint night and it was so much fun. We took some of our old pour paintings and painted some new designs on them.

We ordered some wire designs from the internet to hang up in the bathroom and thought it would be cool to paint them on top of our old paintings.

The wire designs are pretty sensual, so I chose to put them on a red and black painting I did a while ago.

After tracing them onto my painting, all I had left was to fill them in.

I think it turned out really cool and I can't wait to hang it. We bought a laser level and some adhesive strips so that we can get serious about hanging our art and photos. We used to just use nails and the pictures wouldn't look level because of the way they were hung, but they look a lot better now that we took the time to make sure stuff was actually level and spaced out evenly.

We made some s'mores to eat while we painted. On Saturday, we also had a bbq with some nieces and nephews that we had never met before. It was cool getting to know them and after the first few minutes of awkwardness, everyone was comfortable with each other and had a great time. My wife and I love how our home has brought so many people together. We have always wanted to make our home a safe place for people.
This weekend was so great. I am excited for this new chapter in life with my wife. It is weird to have such a large empty home, but it is going to be so much fun making it a home that we have always wanted. We have so many memories here and we can't wait to make more memories together.
That's awesome dude! Me and my son played Fifa 13 all weekend. Weather was shit, and we did not want to go out, especially with all the people that head our way for the holiday weekend.
I tried to stay off the roads as much as possible. Friday the traffic was a nightmare as everyone was heading out of town.
A fantastic family🌸 Hibachi look so delicious.
Thank you. It was delicious
Congratulations on those fantastic moments that you lived with your family, the pictures are wonderful as always, I am very glad that your sister is adopting those young people, I know they found the ideal family to live happily and peacefully.
Hopefully the other two children can get everything completed so they come here soon. The situation is getting pretty bad there for them.
Beautiful moments with family members are golden
Congratulations to your daughter
