OG Kush and Northern Lights Seedling Update

They are doing great

After the problems that I had with my last set of seedlings, I am happy to say that my OG Kush and Northern Lights seedlings are doing great. This first shot is of the OG Kush seedling that sprouted up first.

The Northern Lights is doing great as well. She sprouted up out of the soil about an hour after the OG Kush, so that is nice. I was hoping to keep them close to the same height as they grew, but they are drastically different heights after three days.

The Northern Lights decided it wanted to have a massive growth spurt yesterday. I am hoping that she slows down with her stretch because she is a lot longer than the OG Kush. That really isn't a bad thing, but if she continues to stretch, she may get too heavy for her little stem, but I have a feeling that she is going to thicken up pretty quickly and get stronger.

The OG Kusk is a photo period, which means that I will have to decide when she is going to begin flower. Meanwhile, the Northern Lights is an autoflower and she will automatically begin her flowering phase. So I think I am going to be switching the lights to flower a week or so after the Northern Lights goes into flower. I am hoping that the extra hours of darkness will fatten the Northern Lights up. I have never had a 12/12 light schedule with an autoflower, so it will be interesting to see what the results will be.

The OG Kush is quite short at the moment, but over the next week, we should see some good growth. I have my lights dialed in and at the correct height and intensity for these two seedlings to really shine. Plus with my heater in the grow room, it is the perfect temperature for them to thrive.

As you can see, the Northern Lights is a lot taller than the OG Kush. I don't mind this at all because with the NL being an autoflower, they don't tend to stretch much before flower, and they usually stay pretty short and bushy. So hopefully her getting some extra height early on will keep her somewhat close to the same height as the OG Kush so that I can have a nice even canopy for light distribution during flower.

I opted to place the seeds in smaller containers for this early stage. Having them in the large pots right away may have been a lot of the issue I had with the last seedlings because trying to water fresh seedlings in the large pots has a higher chance of overwatering and ruining the root system. Right now, the main goal for these seedlings is to establish a strong root system and having the pots so wet with nothing to suck up the water will stop the roots from expanding as they should.
During this stage, the seedlings get majority of their water from the humidity in the air because they suck it up through their leaves. So I made some humidity domes that I mist a couple times a day. I will be very happy when these two are out of the seedling stage and have established themselves for their vegetative stage. Finger crossed that everything goes correctly with these two.
Lookin good.. 🤞 that all goes well for the plants.
Thanks man. I hope these ones make it through this stage without any problems. Then it will be time for massive buds.
One day I will buy such a good camera and take such beautiful pictures because I am also very fond of going out and taking pictures and videos. All these pictures looks so beautiful.
Thank you. I hope you are able to get a nice camera one day.
Most welcome dear.
The tiny plants are looking good and I’m sure they will grow big very soon
I hope so. The last seedlings didn't do very good. These are doing a lot better than the others.
Og kush is my most favorite strain!
Nice. I am excited for it.
It’s nice they are coming up gradually.
You take really nice plant pictures, keep it up.
Thank you.
Glad to see gradually they are growing up
Yes. It won’t be much longer until they are huge.
