Playing with my Helios lens

A few years back, I got a Helios lens. I haven't used it too much over the years because it is fully manual and trying to take pictures of moving objects is damn near impossible with this thing. But one thing I like about it is that the aperture can open up to f/2, which is pretty cool. It is able to create some really cool bokeh effects as well.

This cat is named Sammie. He is one of the old Siamese that we have. He tends to get a bit grumpy and I think it is because we have so many other cats and he wishes that it was just him and Sophie still.

This is Sophie. She is my little buddy and sleeps on me all the time. She is like 11 years old now and is the only female pet that we have, so I am sure she gets sick of the boys all being rambunctious.

Rusty is one of the coolest cats we have ever had. He has a super strong bond to me and my wife because when we first rescued him, he was super tiny and needed to be bottle fed for a few weeks. So he is like a little baby to us, even though he is like 4 years old now.

This is his big brother Keiichi. And when I say big brother, I mean it. Keiichi is probably at least 20 pounds. He is a real life Garfield and I am sure he would eat lasagna if we let him.

One of the coolest things I just realized about Sammie and Sophie is that their eyes are different than other cats. They have round pupils and our other cats have the normal slit shaped pupils that cats normally have. So now when I look into their eyes, it is like looking into a human's eye because they dont look like normal cat eyes.

I had to include a picture of Harley in this post because he is the coolest. He is the best dog I have ever owned. He may not be the coolest looking dog, but he is one of the sweetest dogs you will ever meet.

Dusty is our daughter's cat and he is really cool as well. He has been with her through so much and has always been by her side. She has known him since the second he was born because she was there to help deliver him and she helped the momma feed and take care of him and the others in the litter.

I wish I was able to get these shots in focus before taking them. Something about a yawning cat is so cute.

Rusty looks like he is laughing in this one. Our cats are so fun and each of them have their own personalities.
