2022 has been a rough year for photography for me. I really want to get back to taking pictures of stuff that I want to do. One thing that no one talks about with being a photographer is that it is really easy to lose motivation to take pictures for yourself. We spend so much time taking pictures to please clients that we forget what we even got into photography for in the first place.

When I got into photography back in the day, I was doing it mainly to take better pictures for myself so that I can remember stuff, but as I got better and better at it, I had more people tell me that I should start charging for my photography and to take on clients to make money from what I was doing. Don't get me wrong, it was fun learning how to take pictures that others would enjoy also and to make some money from it as well. But over the years, I began to lose interest in taking the types of pictures that I enjoy.

With New Years coming up, one of the things I want to get back into in 2023 is wildlife photography. Wildlife photography is one of my favorite styles of photography. Probably because it gets me outside and I have to actually go out and search for the subject I am going to be photographing. Then once I find it and begin taking pictures of it, things can change so quickly. Like when I saw this group of geese out in the middle of a field.

I had to park my car, then walk through a muddy field to get closer to them. But once I started taking pictures, they started to get spooked and took off. Birds in flight can be super cool to get photos of, especially when the background is really cool. So I just kept taking pictures as they flew off away from me to find a different place to rest.

Wildlife photography can be really hard, especially when you have to hike somewhere in hopes that there is an animal or something interesting to photograph. The winter makes it even harder because I hate being cold. I hate being too hot too. Why can't I live somewhere where it is 70 degrees all year, then I wouldn't have an excuse to stay inside.

I think one thing that I am going to have to do is to carry my camera with me all the time I am going somewhere. I did this when I was first learning photography because you never know what you will see when you are out and a phone just isn't able to capture images the way I want. Hopefully I can find out where all the cool animals are hanging out so I can hunt them down to get cool shots.

Man, these photos are really great. The incredible scenery with the background makes the photo at least twice as good. I think you can be successful in any branch of photography, and you're right about when you'll get some real photographic content. Recently a pigeon landed 30 cm from me and flew away until I took my phone out of my pocket. I wish I could take a picture of it.

You gotta be fast to get pictures of them. It's so much fun taking pictures of birds cause you have to move and anticipate their movements.

That's so right. I'll use my ninja technique next time. Just kidding, there is no technique. I'll try to be faster 😂

You have some great shots here! & you can still do the shootings you really like & chase the motifs of wild animals & sell those! Than you will really be doing your passion & even make money out of it! 😉

Cool shots. Birds in flight will probably always be mission impossible for my phone but yeah, I love taking photos of wildlife too. Wildlife and landscapes / seascapes are my very favorite subjects as I love being out there in nature. It was actually not until our latest trip to Africa that I also did some people photography. Hope you will have a lot of great wildlife photo shooting opportunities in 2023. All the best man.

Hopefully things in the world can go back to normal so I can do a bit of traveling this next year. I'm glad you were able to get some people photography done.
