Winter has arrived

Last week the weather was pretty nice. It was in the upper 40s and the skies were nice and blue.

Have you ever seen a flock of birds take the skies and move as one? It is such a cool thing to see when thousands of birds fly around and seem to be moving all together.

I always wonder how they don't run into each other or anything. It is as if birds are able to communicate their movements without making any noises to each other. Or at least any noises that we can hear with our human ears.

When these formations of birds come through, they move pretty quickly and it only lasts for a few minutes, so I knew I had to be quick when I ran inside and grabbed my camera.

One thing that sucks about all these birds when they move through the area, is that they shit all over the place as they are flying. My back deck was covered and they even shit on my wife's foot as she was out watching them.

As they were leaving, they flew south over my home and shit all over the place. My car had turds all over it and I am sure my room was well.

Today, the weather is pretty bad. It was snowing pretty bad earlier, but luckily it wasn't too cold that it was beginning to stick to the roads.

I have a love/hate relationship with the snow here. It looks cool and everything, but I hate being outside in the snow and I really hate driving in it.

I am hoping that my little apple trees make it through the winter. They should be fine because these ones are made for this weather and I planted them at the beginning of spring last year, so their roots should have been able to stretch down quite.

My bush in the backyard still have all of its little leaves, so I am not sure how long this winter will last. It seems like the trees know how the upcoming seasons will be because they drop their leaves at different times when winter is coming.

We even still have some weeds that lasted a while before the snow came. Last year at this time, we probably had three good snow storms already. It looks like this is going to be a mild year for snow, which kind of sucks because it would be nice to have more snow to fill up the lakes a bit more before summer.

I thought this was a cool shot of my car just chillin out in the snow.

I hope that this plant makes it through the winter. It was a gift for my wife from her coworkers and it bloomed all summer and fall with so many flowers.
