Fragility

break.png

The seedling stage is a very fragile stage when growing cannabis. It is so easy to mess things up. Over the years, I have messed this part of several times.

When you mess up in the seedling stage, it can affect the entire grow and that is something I learned from the AK47 I just grew. With that grow, I introduced a plant into the tent that had a gnat infestation and it spread to my seedling's pots, which forced me to treat the soil. Treating the soil during the early stages is a bad idea that can cause deformities in the plants and ruin their chance of recovering.

I have also killed a few seedlings by being a bit too overzealous with what I was trying. Seedlings really do not need anything except time. They don't need fans blowing across them because they will just blow over and die. They also do not need any bending of their stem, which I have done before and that didn't end will. I thought I was helping to make a strong stem by bending them, but that would be kind of like forcing a newborn baby to start weight lifting and we all know that won't end well either.

So during this seedling stage, I am just misting the top layer of soil with some water and then leaving it be for the next week or so. I have a 2 liter bottle that I cut to make a little greenhouse for her because seedlings love a humid environment. I have my lights set at 18 hours on and 6 hours off and have their power set to 40%. That should provide enough light to help it grow, while at the same time encouraging some nice stretching. I am going to be watching her closely to make sure she doesn't stretch too much and if she starts, I will lower the lights a big and possible increase their intensity to 50%.

I have learned quite a bit over all of the grows I have under my belt and I am really looking forward to this one. I think this may end up being my best one yet. I can't wait to see how this little seedling is going to grow and spread out to fill about 16 square feet of space. It is going to be pretty cool.

I love it, I always stop to take pictures of the seedlings too, and I even planted a small acorn.
I wrote a song "Grow"
All those trees so tall came from tiny seeds
I love the bilateral symmetry of the last one, even the droplets :)
My song by the way

Right now the plants are very small, they will have to take a lot of care, they will have to be watered on time. It looks very beautiful.

The baby analogy of lifting weights is spot on! But I think with photos there is a bit more room for error vs an auto where any little mess up will affect the grow. Which is a major upside. :)

Ya, autos are super sensitive. I like that I started with autos so I got a lot of experience and have learned how sensitive they can be, which has really helped with my photo growing.

We've all messed up a lot of things while experimenting. Thank you my friend for sharing the right method with us. I hope this little man/lady grows up and becomes the size you want.

Freakin carrots and dill are the hardest thing for me to grow

I've never tried either of those. My cousin used to have carrots in their garden growing up and I loved snacking on them. They were some of the best carrots I have ever had.

That's a happy looking GDP seedling.
Seedling stage is not my favorite, they are touchy and some just don't do well while others thrive. It can be frustrating.
You learned from before though that sometimes they can recover even when bent over and will even end up doing good sometimes when things look bleak.
It's sometimes a coin toss with seedlings.
Looking good bro.

Ya, the seedling stage takes a lot of patience, but if you can master this stage, it will set you up for success for the next stages. Hopefully I can help her create a nice root system before moving into the later stages.

I love how something starting out so small, can turn out to be so huge, in so little time! Can't wait to see how yours turns out homie!

Ya, it is crazy to think of all the potential that is in each seed. I am hoping she gets massive over the next few months.

That is beautiful, I love them, really very minimalist and wonderful crack, the detail of the drops was 10 out of 10 ❤❤❤
