Capturing memories

Just a girl living her best childhood.
When I first got into doing photography, it was because I was beginning to lose my memory and I had begun to forget so much of our children's lives when they were little. Since I started photography, my wife and I have gotten a lot better at capturing moments. One thing I had never thought of was how important these memories will be for the little ones in those photos as well.
My wife and I recently found a bunch of our old photo CDs and some old video cassettes when we had just gotten married and started our family. Our daughter thought it was so cool to be able to see herself in those old photos and videos and we have spent the last few nights just watching old family movies together.
While I was in Oregon, I was able to do a photo shoot for some very close family. It was probably one of the most special photo sessions I had ever done. These two little girls are super special to my wife and when I was finally able to meet them, they quickly became family to me as well and I fell in love with them.
These two have the sweetest spirits and we love being around them. I am glad that I was able to capture these moments for their parents, but also for them in the future. Photography has become such an important aspect of my life and I love that I am able to capture these moments in time for the families that I have photographed. It is such a special gift and an honor that these families entrust me with. It won't be too much longer before my wife and I are grandparents and I am going to be taking so many pictures of our little grandkids.
Life is short. Take the time to take a lot of pictures and capture everything you can. Time doesn't slow down for anyone.

Those certainly look like a fantastic pair of cuties. My wife and I used to do some vlogging of our adventures with our sons. Unfortunately, I made the mistake of deleting a YouTube account that had the videos on it before backing up the videos. Sadly, those memories will simply remain memories and not something that can be passed down. I've totally learned from that lesson, and I'm glad you've been able to document things for people!
Ya, we've lost a lot of memories from computers crashing and just misplacing discs that stuff was saved on. It's a lot easier nowadays to keep track of it all.
We've totally had all of those too. And yes, keeping things available in "the cloud" makes things a million times easier.
I never knew about this part of why or how you started photography. It's great to know this is working well for you. You're really good at capturing emotions with your photos, I could tell they really enjoyed that park lol. <3
Ya, my memory started fading about six years ago. I don't think my mind will last and I will most likely develop Alzheimer's or dementia at an early age. Hopefully keeping my mind active will help prevent it from happening.
I felt inner peace reading this.. photography is truly one best way to capture memories and it remains with us forever in those pictures.. I ain't photogenic but still captures Memories cuz I know that's what matters a lot and whenever I look back it makes me feel Good that I spent Good days... You really took Photography to Great height of Wholesomeness. Amazing!
Thank you. I appreciate you stopping by.
It's true: a photographer, after all, is a voyeur.
And I say this in a loving sense, if you are not careful when you have the camera in your hands, you would not be able to catch certain moments that others miss.
But you are there, you see them, those moments, and you fix them on the film. After a while they are forgotten, but when you dust them off and go to see them again it comes back to your memory where, when and why you took that shot.
That is the magic of photography, and that is what you have conveyed with these photos.
Thank you!
Thanks for checking out my post.
I always liken an old album to a box full of treasure. There's always a great story in each photo. 😊
So true.
So cute baby 😍😍😍
Life is far too short and flies by. I can understand that about the photo shoot. I had had a photo shoot with the daughters of my work colleagues. It was my first outdoor photo shoot. Both sides have never done something like this and yet it was a great result came out. We had had a lot of fun that day and now we are invited to the youth consecration party of the two girls. I will not forget the day so quickly. Very nice pictures and many thanks for showing and sharing.

You have done a very good job because when we were children there were no good cameras and our parents did not have pictures of us in the way that we remember our childhood do it. In today's era we have good mobiles and we need to keep pictures of our children and do them from one place when they grow up then they show all the pictures. We should take pictures of every big and small event because when a person sits alone and can't see the time, the good time is gone.
Taking photos of someone you love is always special. Maybe because you don't capture the view but a memory you will always remember. Good shots, my friend.
Thank you
