Adventures with my best friend

The drive down to St George was so peaceful.

View from the Inn on the Cliff.

The view was so cool. It was so peaceful being up on the cliff looking down on the city.

A shot of the venue where the party was held.

I don't think I would mind this view everyday.

This week has been pretty exhausting for my wife and I. Over the past couple months, she has been working hard to plan two different Christmas parties for her work. The first party was on Tuesday up here in Northern Utah. There is a group of people working down in Southern Utah, and she planned a party for them as well.
On Thursday, we drove down to St George for the second party. It is always fun when she has these work events because it is like a mini vacation for us. The drive down to St George was pretty nice. There was a storm coming in that hit on Thursday night, so we basically drove through the calm before the storm. St George is a warmer area that doesn't really see snow, but all of the canyons and passes that we drive through on the way to get there would see snow during the storm, so we were worried that we may get stuck down there and not make it back on Friday.
We stayed at a place called Inn on the Cliff and the view was so cool. I took some pictures from the restaurant area and you can see how high up we were over the city. The view from the room was pretty much the same. We had large windows in the room that went the full length of the back wall. It was so cool looking out the window at night and seeing all of the lights from the city. They also had a pool and hot tub, and the view from the hot tub was amazing and the hot tub felt so nice after an exhausting day of driving and then setting up for the party.
The party itself was awesome. It was held at a country club that is a partner company for the massive resort that my wife's company is building in the area. The food was amazing and we had such a great time. It is so cool seeing all the hard work that my wife puts into these events come together and to see everyone having such a great time.
We only stayed down there for a day and left early Friday morning. Luckily the storms had ended by the time that we started driving and the roads were all clear. We saw a few vehicles off the road from the storm earlier, but after about four and a half hours, we made it home. Now that the holiday work parties are over, my wife can relax a bit and focus more on the other parts of her job. Now we can start planning our next adventure.

Hey, thanks. I like that one too.
It is a beautiful place overlooking the city. Also, your beard is very well-groomed.

Hi @derangedvisions
Aside from the images being very illustrative, what I love about your posts is how well you express yourself. You have an excellent command of literary expression, especially for those of us who are not English speakers, since your written language is perfectly understandable, without linguistic twists, or idioms that mislead.
It is a pleasure to read you.
Thank you very much for sharing.
Thanks. I am glad that you enjoyed it. It was an amazing time.
The place is very beautiful. I wish I could visit that place too.
Thanks. It really was a cool place.
Yes, even I only see in the picture but the place is very fascinating.
Nice pics dude! I would kill for weather like St George where they don't really see snow!
Ya, we have been contemplating moving down that way. We had a snow storm last week and it was so bad to drive around in.
Where I live it, it can get pretty nuts. It might be a full out blizzard where I live, but ten minutes up the road it could be sunny as hell.
What a nice time together @derangedvisions 😊😎
The planning sounds a lot, but happy to hear you both had a good time and the drives were lovely.
Really like little vacations. Enjoy them.
Great captures 👋🏻☀️
