Strolling at Noah's Fish Farm: Establishing Stronger Relationship With Friends
Aside from farming, fishing is one of the oldest livelihoods or activities humans engage in, in our country and even the whole world. Most Filipinos are fishermen or indulge in fishing as their way of living. Without our fishermen, various kinds of seafood may not be present on our dining table. Some of our fishermen do not rely on their catch in an open sea instead they raise fish and other aquatic resources on their farms. It could be in a brackish water pond or constructing a fish farm in an open sea. This practice is what we call Aquaculture.
Aquaculture is a way of breeding, raising, and harvesting fish and other aquatic resources. As a student at a Fishery School, I had the experience of raising fish in a pond like transferring fingerlings from one fishpond to a rearing pond. It was also my experience in building or constructing a dike of a pond. These jobs were not easy but when you harvest kilos of fish and other aquatic products on your farm, you feel the success and satisfaction with what you're doing.
So, my dear hive friends in this blog, I will show you a fishing farm and at the same time a tourist attraction. This farm is the Noah's Fish Farm. His Farm was made not only for fish farming but for tourist attraction. You can order foods not only aquatic products but in all forms of barbecue grills and snacks. Aside from serving fresh seafood, you will also enjoy looking at all the views of Hagnaya and most especially the Hagnaya Port. This strolling of ours was the continuation of my high school friend's bonding.
Noahs Fish Farm
Noah's Fish Farm is located at Hagnaya, San Remigio, Cebu near Hagnaya Port. This is the Port, where Cargo and Passengers Vessel bound for Bantayan Island and the province of Masbate are found. Because of this Port, Barangay Hagnaya is more famous than our municipality, since most buses coming from the city going to Northern Cebu bear the sign of Hagnaya.
When we arrived at the venue. We rode a bamboo raft going to the fish farm. It is just more or less 100 meters away from the road. The bamboo raft has chairs made of bamboo too for you to settle down while the driver pulls the rope going to the farm. It's very exciting riding a raft thinking if it will not sink in. We had so much fun while riding the raft especially if we needed to balance and won't move.
When we arrived at the farm, we enjoyed strolling around for it has a pathway made of bamboo poles tied to each other. Every corner has a table and chairs made of bamboo too. This was provided for you to relax while enjoying the fresh air. At that moment, the food court was fully loaded with tourist waiting for their orders to cook. Some were fishing using bait and a hook. We saw a lot of fish, and fingerlings of milkfish or bangus in each pond. The farm was divided according to the age of the fish using a net. We felt amazed by the fishpond personnel while feeding the fish. He called the fish by producing a sound by striking the wood. The fish then swim freely waiting for the feeds to be thrown. When there were feeds already, I saw the fish eating the feed happily, not knowing that when they fully grew they would be caught. Hehehe
After strolling it's time to order for our dinner. We let the fishpond personnel catch a Lapu-Lapu or groupers for us. We selected a medium size Lapu-Lapu for our sinigang. The cost for Lapu-Lapu is 800.00 per kilo. We ordered half of it for our sinigang. We also ordered 1 kilo of milkfish for daing.
When it was already cooked the chef served our sinigang and daing. Then we ordered rice and drinks. It smells good since it was cooked right after it was caught from the farm. Both dishes were very nutritious, pleasing, and satisfying. I can figure out the differences in taste between a fish freshly caught from the sea and those that were already stocked with ice.
After eating I ordered 1 kilo of fresh bangus. I let them sliced into a butterfly fillet so that when I go home I will cook it right away. We enjoyed having a stay with a full stomach at the farm. It was already sunset when we went out, so we decided to go home. That day marks another valuable moment to keep and to hold. Thankful and blessed for the time shared by just the five of us. Our friendships were getting stronger and better until the end of time.
That's all for now. This is @dehai. See you in my next blog. Thank you and God bless us all.

I love fish, only that it's quite expensive over here in my City (Port Harcourt, Nigeria). You really study a very important course is school, livestock, fish and food in general are the most important need of the human person. Learning how to produce any of them will definitely pay
That's true sr. It's not easy to raise fish it is expensive but if it succeeds it is a good investment. Thank you for dropping sr @ernesto6402

Wooow I've seen that the Philippines has amazing places, it's great to learn a little more about their culture and take a look at this fish farm I've never seen it before. I think it must be pretty unique to ride the bamboo raft and tour the farm.
