Góry nad morzem 2 / Where mountains meet the ocean 2 [#120]

Musicie mi wybaczyć ale jeszcze przez parę tygodni będę Was zarzucał widoczkami z Teneryfy. Nieustannie jestem zachwycony krajobrazami, a także geologiczną i biologiczną różnorodnością. Wczoraj zaliczyłem kolejną super wycieczkę do Gór Anaga znajdujących się na wschodnim krańcu wyspy. Ponoć jest to najstarsza część Teneryfy i ma około 7mln lat.
Podobnie jak za pierwszym razem, teraz też zszedłem aż nad sam ocean, ta była dużo mniej przyjazna, ale widoki ciekawsze i bardziej różnorodne. Szlak oceniłbym na dużo bardziej atrakcyjny niż poprzednio, głównie dlatego, że biegł on wzdłuż kanionu, w którym jest strumień. Nowe formy i krajobrazy, w tym parę przełomów. Było też kilka okazji, żeby się powspinać i zmienić odrobinę perspektywę. To miejsce nazywa się Playa de Anosma.

Bardzo dobrze wspominam dwa lata geologii ze studiów. W skałach zawsze zawarta jest prehistoria danego miejsca, a wychodnia skał stanowi zagadkę do rozgryzienia, śledztwo do przeprowadzenia. Wiecie jakie jest motto geologów? Mente et maleo. Czyli myślą i młotem. Jakoś mnie to urzekło. I do dziś lubię sobie czasem porozkminiać skałki. Tutejsze wulkaniczne formy są jednak ponad moje możliwości, chętnie skonsultowałbym się z jakimś ekspertem, no bo co tu zaszło w ogóle? Widzicie ten kąt prosty między dwiema warstwami? No jak?

Dlaczego w jednym miejscu taka formacja jest bardziej zerodowana i tworzy wnękę w skale, a parę metrów dalej taka sama skała stawia dzielny opór falom oceanu i się ostaje? Nie wiem.

W drodze powrotnej na moim szlaku spotkałem kozy, tym razem mogłem się im z bliska przyjrzeć, podczas gdy te ostrożnie się wycofywały.

Podczas tego hike'u przypomniało mi się też jedno bardzo dobre wspomnienie z dzieciństwa. Jeździłem na wakacje do dziadka na wsi i czasem bawiłem się tam w rzece. Raz moja ciotka zabrała mnie na wycieczkę w dół górskiego potoku i brodząc po kolana w wodzie odkrywałem co znajduje się dalej. Podobną ekscytację czułem wczoraj, i chociaż mam już kilka lat więcej, a trasę przeszedłem suchą stopą, to mordka wciąż cieszy mi się jak dziecku przy takich wycieczkach.

You have to forgive me, but for a few more weeks I will be bombarding you with pictures from Tenerife. I am constantly amazed by the landscapes, as well as the geological and biological diversity. Yesterday I went on another great trip to the Anaga Mountains on the eastern tip of the island. Apparently, it is the oldest part of Tenerife and is about 7 million years old.

Like the first time, this time I also descended all the way to the ocean, which was much less friendly, but the views were more interesting and diverse. I would rate the trail as much more attractive than the first one, mainly because it ran along a canyon with a stream. New forms and landscapes, including several gorges. There were also a few opportunities to climb and change the perspective a bit. The beach is called Playa de Anosma."

I have very fond memories of two years of geology studies. The history of a place is always contained in its rocks, and an outcrop of rocks presents a puzzle to be solved, an investigation to be conducted. Do you know what the motto of geologists is? "Mente et malleo", which means "with the mind and with the hammer". I find it charming, and even to this day, I enjoy thinking about rocks. However, the volcanic formations here are beyond my abilities, and I would be happy to consult with an expert to understand what happened here. Do you see this right angle between two layers? How did that happen?

Why is it that in one place, a formation is more eroded and creates a recess in the rock, while a few meters away, the same rock bravely resists the waves of the ocean and remains unchanged? I don't know.

On my way back along the trail, I met some goats, and this time I was able to observe them up close as they cautiously retreated.

During this hike, I was also reminded of a very fond childhood memory. I used to go on vacation to my grandfather's farm, and sometimes I would play in the river there. Once, my aunt took me on a hike down a mountain stream, and wading through the water up to my knees, I discovered what lay beyond. I felt a similar sense of excitement yesterday, and although I have a few more years under my belt and completed the trail with dry feet, my face still lights up like a child's on these kinds of excursions.
