Motivational Mondays: The World Is Vibrant and Loud, With Encouragement on Its Quiet Corners

Haight Street and Masonic Avenue -- one of the most iconic corners in San Francisco, and even on a silvery summer day, it is vibrant. I caught this picture among many on a long walk in mid-August, my longest since recovering from anemia through the winter and spring.

Yet a block down from here, near a slower and humbler corner, I found a real treasure ...

... and with it, a reminder...

The creator of this garden was out working on it, and told me how she had pulled together succulents from around the world and allowed the community to help her out adding butterflies and buying her excess stock ... it had been a huge expense, but it is a blessing to those passing by, coming away from the loud and gaudy to a place of refreshing... by day, quite lovely ...

Of course I donated, and also shared about Hive ... planting a seed ... so much of life is planting the seeds for a good future ... we cannot know what a choice to bring kindness and beauty into others' lives might bring to them or us, and in a cold world it can sometimes seem to be a waste of time and energy.

But it is not. Love In Haight Fairy Garden has now made it to Web 3, and the beauty of it is here on the blockchain forever to now bless those who read -- and perhaps the creator of that garden will come here and be blessed as well! Doors to new worlds, open to her and us, because of her choice to plant a garden and not only believe in the future but build into it something good!

It is Monday, and it is the first day of September -- may I encourage us, in the last warmth of the summer, to go and do likewise?
