Thanks to everyone who supported and congratulated me when I announced in my last post that gradually the dream that I had sometimes ago that made me to quit my 9-5 job in a bank is becoming a reality. I made another big move of moving my equipments, accessories and fabrics to the shop from the house where I have kept it for a while as I was awaiting the completion of the shop.

Yesterday, I was able to couple my machines which gave the shop a real fashion designer shop look. The machines added some sort of beauty to the shop and I love every bit of it. I would have coupled the machines two days ago but the man that was supposed to do the work didn't show up after several calls. He said he was at another shop coupling someone's machine and it was late before he could finish. So, we had to reschedule.

Before we started the coupling process, we discussed on the amount he was going to charge for the job. I have two industrial machines that I bought in pieces, so the two needs a professional to couple it. He charged me #11,000 for the coupling, that is, #5,000 each.

I did my best to negotiate the price to at least #4,000 each but he didn't agree. After some trial I had to agree to his price and the work began.

He started with the coupling of the sewing machine. First, he arranged the stand by screwing the different parts together and afterwards he screwed a mini machine to the base of the board.

Then he screwed the sewing machine stand to the board before fixing the pedal to the body of the machine. Afterwards, he added the sewing machine itself to the body that he had erected and did some other settings. And that's it.

Next, he proceeded to the weaving machine immediately. The process was similar at the beginning where he erected the stand of the machine. But the weaving machine is quite different and requires a lot of patience to be able to couple it perfectly. However, the man did the job with speed and precision. He knows the next screw to pick and where to use it. He was receiving several calls while he was working so I guess there are other people waiting for him at their shops to work for them.

More importantly, he did a short tutorial of how to use the machines for me especially the weaving machine. Throughout the years that I have been sewing I have not paid keen interests to the use of the sewing machine (maybe because I don't own one and I pay people to weave for me).

On the days that I have had to operate it by myself I'd stand up from the machine the moment the thread cuts. I will beg someone to help me fix and I will continue. But now I must pay keen attention to the use of the machine.
