Carney Island

My daughter had her gender reveal for her 2nd baby yesterday and... drum roll.... it's another girl! We hosted the reveal party at a local county park called Carney Island. I took a few moments and escaped down one of the nature trails and even getting into the lake to capture some photos of the vegetation.

Carney island is a park made up of 2 lakes. Little Lake Weir and Big Lake Weir. It also is the site of a famous Mobster Family's house. The Barker's. The Ma Barker house.

There was also a guy fishing in these waters where these vegetation pics were taken. I didnt have a clear shot or I would have captured that as well.

Here is another mysterious bird. Florida has a vast selection of birds in its bird population and I haven't nearly done enough research on what is what, so if you know what this bird is, drop it in the comments please!

There were huge massive oak trees down the trail! Now tree types I can get behind and name a bunch of them!! This tree has to be over 100 years old. If I had to guess its age its more like 150+

This structure is fairly new. Its a rest stop and weather cover for hikers. It was not there over a year ago when I last visited this place!

I call this the lonely bench. This bench has been here for as long as I can remember. Maybe one day I'll come sit here with a bird book and try to figure then all out!!

This is just an esthetic shot of the different types of trees along the trail. The big palm tree up front is one of Florida's staples when it comes to trees!! Did you know there are many types of palm trees? Some grow fruits and nuts such as Dates and Coconuts?

Nature Walks Can Be Refreshing to your mind and body!

Today however, I have a massive group shoot with many models and other photographers about 2.5 hours away so, i leave this here to get ready to drive! And of course I'll most definitely be practicing my street photography and post the results. Have a great Sunday!
