The Attis (Lightpainting on Hive)
Hey Hive!
As I was back in Redon for the insane MURALITY graffiti event two weeks ago (I'm a member of the West Graffiti crew which was organizing it), I took time to visit the local spots I like before driving back to Nantes on sunday night.
I was half-dead on monday morning at the office but clear sky and the bright moon worth the fatigue.
For that specific picture, I made an 8-way rotation of the boat using ambient lighting.
The Attis, a former WWII D-Day tugboat, is rotting in the harbour of Redon. This is a shame.
This boat was belonging to the US Navy and took part to the military ops on the french coast in 1944. This boat was built in Houston in 1943 and moved to England in 1944 to take part the the Overloard op. Its mission was to bring the concrete blocks to Arromanches to build the artificial harbour. The boat also helped in the rebuilt of harbours of cities like Le Havre and Cherbourg.
The tugboat will be dismantled at the end of this year.

Lightpainting is a photographic technique in which exposures are made by moving a hand-held light source while taking a long exposure photograph, either to illuminate a subject or to shine a point of light directly at the camera, or by moving the camera itself during exposure. Nothing is added or removed in post processing.
