Nocturnal wanderings in the city of Nantes part 5 (Lightpainting on Hive)
Hi everyone,
We faced an unusual coldwave here in the west of France last december : snow felt during a couple of days and temperature was abnormally low (below 0°C at night).
Weirdly, it suited me well^^ I hate cold but it's different when I do photography : I totally forget about it (of course I have proper gear) and I'm able to stay out during several hours.
One day at dusk, I was motivated to do a lightpainting session in the city so I took my gear and I walked in the streets. I made several stops when I found inspirative locations.
This picture was taken in front of the courthouse, close to the Loire river. I combined abstact light-calligraphy and camera rotation work during the exposure, as I often do.
The weather was very cloudy as you can see. I hope next time I'll be lucky enough to have a clear sky with small clouds and wind, to get clouds trails 🤞

No layers /no Photoshop / no editing except minor adjustments (lens correction profite, WB, contrast (+12)) and addition of my logo.

Lightpainting is a photographic technique in which exposures are made by moving a hand-held light source while taking a long exposure photograph, either to illuminate a subject or to shine a point of light directly at the camera, or by moving the camera itself during exposure. Nothing is added or removed in post processing.

The picture is beautiful, if you didn't say you took it in front of the courthouse, I wouldn't have known, i thought it's was an art that you created, the camera rotation brings a different kind of image, but it awesome, I love seeing something new.
