Crossroads - Lightpainting on Hive

Hi there,

Another post about one of my recent trips under the surface of Earth.

This is a location I visited hundreds of times before. A place where we built our own room back in the days which is still in good shape, respected by other underground marauders who gave it a name^^

This time it was a photoshootng session so no time to chill.

During our long walk, we spent time in an area called "the village" : this is a location where a lot of rooms were built between 2015 and 2019, when the quarry was visited by many crews every week-end break. A "war" between foe groups strated suddently in late 2018 and they all started to destroy other groups' works. Such a pity... Our idea was to check if everything was destroyed or if there were some remainings of the glorious days of the Village.

On our way to the Village, we came to a crossroad you can't avoid if you want to go to a part of the quarry to another. This is the junction between the different small quarries which constitute this vast ensemble.
What you can see on the right part is a location where stones were crushed to make a kind of dust to grow mushrooms :

WHAT IS LIGHTPAINTING?

Lightpainting is a photographic technique in which exposures are made by moving a hand-held light source while taking a long exposure photograph, either to illuminate a subject or to shine a point of light directly at the camera, or by moving the camera itself during exposure. Nothing is added or removed in post processing.

That junction where they crushed stone into dust for mushrooms got me, it gives the place a strange second life.. Your SOOC light session fits that gritty history and and the no chill pace comes through. The way you keep everything in camera feels honest and bold. Properly epic and definately earned.
