Colección de libros de 100 cosas [ESP-ENG]

En casa tenemos una pequeña biblioteca y allí se pueden notar varias colecciones de libros muy bien ordenadas y no se trata de solo papeles, tinta y portadas llamativas; es una acumulación de historias, conocimientos y viajes en cada libro. Esta vez hacemos énfasis en unos libros como enciclopedia, que estan muy bien cuidados. Donde cada volumen es una invitación a explorar un tema distinto: ya sea música, historia, cultura, lugares, además aún conservan el plástico. Porque un libro no pierde valor por el paso del tiempo, al contrario, lo acumula.

We have a small library at home, and there you can see several well-organized collections of books. These aren’t just pieces of paper, ink, and eye-catching covers; each book is a treasure trove of stories, knowledge, and journeys. This time, we’re highlighting some encyclopedia-style books that are in excellent condition. Each volume is an invitation to explore a different topic—whether it’s music, history, culture, or places—and they’re still wrapped in their original plastic. Because a book doesn’t lose its value over time; on the contrary, it gains it.

Esta es una colección de libros que sacaron en mi país Venezuela y cada vez que se compraba el periódico El universal obsequiaban un libro de estos, libros que son 100 cosas y todos ellos, destaca por una historia que contar. Uno de los que me gustan más 100 maravillas de Venezuela, la cual va documentando cada maravilla que tiene dicho país. Ahí es donde la colección toma un sentido aún más profundo, porque a través de esos libros, se puede recorrer paisajes, aprender de su espacio, conocer culturas, fotos y lo mejor es ese resumen teorico de dicho espacio.

This is a collection of books published in my country, Venezuela. Every time you bought the newspaper El Universal, they gave away one of these books—books that each feature 100 things, and every single one stands out for the story it tells. One of my favorites is 100 Wonders of Venezuela, which documents every wonder that the country has to offer. That’s where the collection takes on an even deeper meaning, because through these books, you can explore landscapes, learn about the region, discover cultures, view photos, and best of all, read a theoretical overview of the area.

Otro de esa colección, que es un libro como 100 maravillas del mundo y no es solo un recopilatorio de lugares, es una forma de reconectar con la identidad, con la riqueza natural y cultural que muchas veces pasa desapercibida. Como montañas, ríos, estructura, edificios, paisajes y muchas otras cosas que existen en el mundo y que en sola página puedes aprender, está la ubicación y algo que lo hace unico. Y lo más interesante es que ese mismo concepto de libro está el resumen perfecto del lugar, si necesidad de tener que usar el internet.

Another book in this collection—which is like 100 Wonders of the World but isn’t just a compilation of places—is a way to reconnect with our identity and with the natural and cultural riches that often go unnoticed. Like mountains, rivers, structures, buildings, landscapes, and many other things that exist in the world—and which you can learn about on a single page—it includes the location and something that makes it unique. And the most interesting thing is that this very concept of a book is the perfect summary of the place, without needing to use the internet.

Esta es una colección que tiene años en casa y también habla de disciplina, de curiosidad y de intención, para así poder lograrla, a pesar de que aún me faltaron otros libros. Aun así cada uno de este libro de 100 cosas es una apuesta por el conocimiento, además estoy seguro de muchas de las cosas que están allí documentadas como una biografía, fotos y una ubicación, no sabías que existían.

This is a collection I’ve had at home for years, and it speaks to discipline, curiosity, and determination—the qualities needed to put it together, even though I was still missing a few books. Even so, each of the 100 items in this book represents a commitment to knowledge, and I’m sure there are many things documented there—such as biographies, photos, and locations—that you didn’t even know existed.
