A new cup, a small coffee

February is here, how quickly time flies! I remember that just a few days ago we were celebrating Christmas, but the funny thing is that it doesn't feel any different, everything is the same, work and more work. However, there is one small new thing that makes me happy: we have a new mug, and we tried it out right away with black coffee. It doesn't hold much, but it's definitely designed to be poured slowly so that nothing spills, and it's the mug I use every morning before leaving the house.

I really like the design, and it's the perfect size for that morning coffee, which is not just a coffee, but a ritual, a conscious pause in the middle of the routine so you can sit down and enjoy every sip. While the aroma of that freshly brewed coffee mixes with the soft light, my mom places some plants around the house that seem motionless, yet give the home another special touch. At that moment in the morning, you understand that beginnings don't always need grand gestures. Sometimes they start like this: with a short, almost symbolic sip that sets the pace for the day and, beyond that, gives me the strength and energy I need to face long hours of work.

It had been a while since I bought a new mug, and it's something you tend to stop buying, but then you realize you're always short of mugs. That's why it's a great investment, and with these new mugs, the taste of the drink won't change, but the intention will. It's a simple way of saying, “Here I am,” of recognizing that time keeps moving forward and so do we, even if slowly. These kinds of purchases will serve us well, and even if you don't see the need for them, it will always be satisfying to be able to have a coffee when you wake up, and once again, the mugs are the main thing.

Today I had to leave home very early, and I always finish my coffee quickly because I'm in a hurry to get to work on time, so I drink it right away. It's just what I need to take a breath, clear my head, and remember that simple things also sustain us. Perhaps that's where the real beginning of the month lies: in repeating the daily routine with a little more attention, and that coffee at the beginning gives you the motivation you need to reap great rewards.

At the end of each day, each month, or each cup of coffee, it's not about big plans or written goals. It's about those little moments that, without us noticing, prepare us for everything that comes next. A new cup, a small coffee, and the door that will open month after month.

Even though it's a small glass, the impact of dopamine and caffeine is so great. 😃
