The reason for not going home early
Some say, being a sales person can have all the convenient of go home early any time as they wished. I don't disagree that, but I'm just not that kind of go home early guy.
My sales appointment usually at the lunch hour, if not not dinner. So, the lunch that take forever to finish due to business discussion, can sometime lead to evening. And I don't go back to office due to the traffic.
And therefore, some other colleagues may think I've been taking opportunity to "go home". The truth is, I don't. Going home would mean I'm allowing myself to have excuse to NOT work.
Some say, can always bring work home and continue to work, why "stay outside"? My reason has always been current, once you bring work home, which means now I will have to work even if I'm out of the office 🤣 don't you get it?
This is one very good example, where I finished a lunch appointment, by right will have to meet another client for a high tea, and the client called it off. So I decided to grab myself a cup of bobba and sit there to continue my work.
This way, I'm still segregating my "job" from "home environment" and "the outside". As a sales and marketing personnel, majority of my time has been occupied. Sometimes client called in the midnight and ask for road assist, as if I have a tow truck.
And usually by the time I finished work(no I'm lying, my work can never be done on time due to a lot of process and follow up require), the time will be way pass office hour. The only good thing is, I'm always "outside", so I can skip big portion of traff
With that being said, I'm still reaching home like an ordinary 8 to 5 employee, and be happen if there's no rain so I can put on my gear and go out for a power walk before dinner.
Losing weight is one thing, cardio workout is another. Follow my blog long enough, you should know I eat a lot, and they're not exactly healthy. So, a power walk a day keep the calories burning in check.
Often people will ask me what sort of work in doing as an employee, because I was seen enjoying my life eating out all day, hanging out at malls after malls like a YouTube influencer.
The truth is, I'm a marketing officer for an insurance firm. Meeting client, educating them, collecting document(no so much to collect since covid), is my job. And therefore, like half the time I will meet client at malls, some other time at restaurants. Coupled with my habits of collecting food porn photographs, most of my client already know why I let the camera eat first, so I can show off case to you guys.
Anyway, I also have a habit of NOT going home early despite appointment finished earlier. Not that I don't like my family, I just don't like being work home. I know I won't do them even if I bring them home. Instead of feeling guilty of abusing office hour going home, and I had to work for the rest of the evening, I always choose to "stay outside".

There are times that after a tiresome work you like to have "me time" before going home. Recharge and regain for tomorrow's another tough day. By the way the food looks great and delicious.

I can sense the sarcasm by reading between the lines 🤣 must say I'm not that hardworking, but I choose to stay off from home during working hour.
Perks of being a salesperson is having the flexibility of schedule and work arrangement. I am jealous. Lol
There's one time I got a boss who track us where we go 🤪 he will video call staff during working hour 🤣 but ofcourse he didn't last long in the company.
Your post reminds me of why I always tell my family I'd like to have a "Hive Office" here at home, a place where I can go and work and be more productive than being interrupted every 10 minutes. Our house is too small for a separate space within, so I dream of a mini-cabin here one day to function as my mancave and workspace. I think Hivin' with a whitewater view and the ability to jump in the river when I get too hot would be a very nice way to blog and curate.
Somehow when I read until Hive Office, my mind goes Hawaii Five O 🤣🤣🤣 and the theme song came to live!
Although before my time, I am familiar with this flick, I can see how you connected the dots. As an 80s kid, I grew up with Miami Vice instead of Hawaii Five-0.
