Balls on fire incident

There's this rare case scenario of insurance claim occured for the wrong reason. I'm not going to say which company it occured nor the branding of the product, but I'm gonna share with you some general information of why it happened and how to avoid it.

A client filed an accident claim, where the phone engulfed into a fireball on his balls. Well, sounds funny? Please do not think this is a joke. Now that I think back, for a guy like myself who worked in sales and marketing industry, using cellphone whilst driving is a norm. Even we understand the risk of answering, but some of the call we just can't ignore. The very least will have to quickly answered it, drop a line like "I'm driving, will call you back shortly". And then, conveniently drop the phone between the crotch 😂

Now I'm not going to enclosed anymore sharing some detail of the case, fortunately the vehicle damage were minimum, sofa seat damage, steering wheel column and roof had a fire damage. And he himself, doc advised he will have to wear a sarong quilt without underpants for at least 3 weeks, and to avoid bed room activities involved downstairs for the time being 😂 should be grateful doc didn't ask him to chop off the burnt bratwurst.

The investigation report was done properly and found the owner had changed the battery to a 3rd party battery for his (not android) phone, and uses a 3rd party car charger, charging the phone in the car, under the hot afternoon, and the phone were pinched between his legs. Well, technically there's absolutely no breach of any road and transport law. There's no specific rule saying one must not drive a car with a charging phone between his or her legs, but the investigator did share with us on the risk improvement report. Here are some of the fact you me should be aware of.

  1. It's not some old keypad phone era where user can change casing and replace battery easily. Smart phones nowadays does seal off the entire enclosure to protect its functionality and reliability. Tempering the enclosure and replacing part would mean infusing more risk of using such tempered product.
  2. Car auxiliaries power supply despite regulated at 12 Volts, but the modulator(we call it plug in charger) may not have sufficient filtration power, especially low grade chargers. There's a chance it will send various statics to the phone and or damage the phone.
  3. Phone gets heat up during charging because of the circuitry is working its way to refill the battery. Having a charging phone on the car seat heat it up even more because it wasn't able to vent the heat out. Surrounding a heating phone on the car seat surrounded by your crotch is probably the best way to cook some balls.
  4. Let's not talk about charging the damn phone. Loose item in the cabin can become an instant threat during road accidents emergency. It can be a emergency stop sending the phone into the foot well, and it can stuck the brake pedal or the accelerator pedal.

Is it safe to say, when you have a brand spanking new phone that came with quality battery, a well working original car charger, and your balls/vagina is safe? Nope, do not put the phone in that put regardless charging or not charging, using or not using. It's just a bad idea and taking unnecessary risk leaving a grenade downstairs.
