Easter Vigil of 2023

It is not our intention to get I'm the chapel early, but due to Ramadan month, fellow Muslims will be busy preparing their Eid celebration, and also break fasting by around 7pm, we need to arrive early for Easter Vigil.

As home minister suggestion, we prepare our own candle, and not forgetting to bring some cardboard to protect our hands whilst the wax dripping during the vigil. So happen the shop gave us recycle cardboards cut out from cigarettes box.

Didn't I told you I've stopped smoking for 3 years now? These cigarettes box with the gross warning sign deeply reminding me I should stay quit til the end of my time.

As the mass started, the priest and bishops came to lite up the congregation and holy hymnal blasting through the entire chapel with no fan(so it doesn't blow out the candles), couple with our tropical high heat and humid climate, it's a perfect sauna!

I'm not sure if 7 reading is consider short, but the bishops said they can go up to 9. Well, should I say thank God the priest didn't stretch it? 🤣 Home minister is at the choir team, lucky for her as she's got a dedicated fan for the choir team.

As the candle wax sipping through the cardboards, the wax also dropped on my hand and gave me burning sensation. I'm not exactly into BDSM stuff, but I hold my pain and soon as the surface wax caked up, the following drops wasn't feel that painful anymore

Soon as the reading was done, priest started the mass and rain started pouring in, I felt a little relief from the high heat and can feel the breeze blowing through the windows.

We arrived church at 6pm, and by the time mass was done, its already 9:45pm. We greeted everyone we know and some who didn't know with Easter blessing and dragging out hungry ass out, looking forward to eat pork properly after 40 days abstain.

The rain indeed cooling down the soil a little, but still the entire city is glowing up with the vapor emitting from the ground. It does looks cool, but trust me it's very humid and sticky. Not the most comfortable weather you want to have.

Off everyone rushing though the pedestrian walk, and cars are pouring in to chauffeur their love one from church to celebrate Easter.
Since home minister is I the choir team, we decided to attend the Easter vigil together, so we don't have to rush to Sunday morning Easter mass.
The St John cathedral suffered a major roof collapse couple of months ago, it will take another couple of months to reconstruct the building at the same time to protect the buildings original layout. Therefore, for now we will have to make do with the chapel.
It wasn't easy to stay sweaty in such hot environment, it's hard to imagine the priest will have to wear his priest coat and that tall hat (don't know what they call that party hat). Well, nobody say being a catholic is an easy way, that's why they do it. Me? I'm not a catholic, I'm married to one and decided to follow through and show respect.
