Yesterday’s Hike

IMG_0784.jpeg

So we went hiking yesterday, and surprisingly I took a lot of photos (lol). Walking through the woods, for hours, it was a lot fun, at least until we heard some very loud animal cries or growl or whatever it was. Immediately we stop, I grab the bear spray, we slowly walk backward. Then we are able to make out a large male elk, seemingly trying to pull his antlers out of a tangled bush of sorts. Somewhat relieved, but startled, we continue along the trail. Later on, I am told, that the bull was likely trying to wear off the antler velvet, in preparation for rutting season. But it did look like he was stuck in the bushes to us. In the last photo, we spotted a marmot in the distance. He started to run away and I was able to snap this somewhat grainy but cool shot of him jumping forward. Thanks for stopping by.

Beautiful paths, no wonder you take tons of photos... I didn't know it existed that bear spray, pretty useful for unwanted encounters!

Never travel without bear spray, which doubles as any animal spray!

The path is beautiful and comfortable to walk at a leisurely pace, not out of breath so it's no surprise if you manage to take lots of pictures.

Yes, leisurely until we had that animal encounter...but that was only short lived.

Amazing adventures at the woods! I must mention that the configuration of the tall trees makes walking around this place an incredible experience :)
