Union Bay Cairn

DSC09168.jpeg

Check out this cool cairn, seemingly watching over Union Bay, here on Vancouver Island. In recent years, these “cairns” are popping up everywhere. Never used to see them much in the past, but nowadays, it’s the “thing to do”. Tell me, have you ever made a cairn? Or at least thought about it, but never went ahead. This particular cairn was made of larger and of course heavier rocks. I’m guessing it took a few people to put this one together. Thanks for stopping by.

The whole pictures for me are smooth. But the stones especially are top notch

Yeah, I'm sure they are on the heavy side, which gives them stability.

A form of artistic expression I'd say.

It looks sturdy enough to stand moderately high wind flows. Never made one myself, not even something I considered doable :)

I wonder what people will think about these cairns in a 1000 years time? Assuming that people are still around on earth?
Cool photos btw. 👍

Stonehenge still baffles people today.

As you mentioned.

What does it matter to us

We'll all be long gone...

I'm just imagining a bunch of future archeologists standing around trying to figure out why people built cains? Lol
