Trees ‘N Boardwalks

Welcome to Cathedral Grove, located on beautiful Vancouver Island, Canada. A special place and a popular place for tourists to stop by for an easy zero elevation nature walk. If you ever visit the island, this is one of many must do activities. Speaking of islands, I almost wouldn’t even consider this an island, it is actually tremendously huge. There is only a tiny stretch of ocean that separates this from the mainland. They say that back in ancient times, in the days of the dinosaurs, the island was in fact connected to the mainland; which is believable. Thanks for stopping by.

Beautiful as always.. looking at these trees it feels like they are very old. Perhaps the tree is 100 years old.

You should be able to find some good fossils then there

Impressive how tall they are!

I'm sure there must be. In fact, when I looked into it, some of the first fossils were found around Trent river, coincidentally very near where we stayed (which was in Courtney).

Touring the island would be a breeze via the boardwalks. Great that the trees are thriving and keep growing taller and bigger.

The place looks beautiful and peaceful, and the path itself is comfortable to walk on. The moss on the wooden fence adds to the peace and makes feel truly immersed in nature.

Not as big as the UK, but larger than Taiwan.

Beautiful pictures, what a nice place! I'm sure it was connected to the mainland during the last ice age when sea levels were much lower around 12,000 years ago...

I do hope you enjoy Banff today, I hope some trails are open and not yet snow covered, and that it isn't too cold either. It's that time of year! Enjoy your day!
