Last Spring whilst in the Cranbrook, East Kootenay area, I went on what I thought was going to be a pleasant nature walk. Well I guess I was wrong. The “guide” that was with failed to warn me about some unexpected elevation gain. Luckily I had my handy dandy trekking poles along. (I really love my trekking poles!) Up top here we get a panoramic view of the city of Cranbrook. Pretty decent view actually, considering a mix of sun and cloud. The entire escapade took about 2 hours ish. I’d do it again someday. Thanks for stopping by.

What a view from there, you can even see the city from far! But what a guide lol
Well I did end up burning more calories than expected, which was welcome.
When I go hiking in the mountains, I try to carry as little gear as possible. So no trekking poles for me 😁
That was me up until a few years ago, but the trekking poles are a must for me!
The view is quite beautiful and brightful. You are doing well even to Trek in order to capture what you want isn't that easy, ride on dear ♥️👍.
Trekking poles and a lot of fun it was.
The view is very beautiful, I love the shape of the clouds, but the yellow flowers also caught my attention.
Thought I's throw in a flower pic for good measure. Thanks.
Trekking poles must be a lifesaver. I would say the view looks totally worth the surprise climb though. It's a good thing you pushed through and made it to the top. You had beautiful shots
Now that I use them, can’t live without them anymore. Makes the ups and downs easier. Thanks.
You're welcome 😊
Trekking poles make hiking so much easier, I can't imagine going without them. It's nice to know about elevation gain in advance, but at least you got a great view when it was all said and done. The vista from the top was definitely worth the climb!
I love that flower, just so intensely pretty and yellow! The simple things make life more enjoyable don't they? And that tree in black and white looks more like an alien landscape that a tree and surrounding brush. That was a very cool use of mono!
Yes, it was worth it. Glad I powered through this hike to the top, made easier with my precious trekking poles. Thanks as always for stopping by.
Hiking poles got in the way when I wanted to have my camera handy at all times, and I preferred to avoid hanging it around my neck. Since I got a special camera holder on my backpack strap, I've been using hiking poles on every long trail. My legs are always grateful!
Beautiful photos, as always.
I know what you mean. It adds an extra step when wanting to stop and grab some photos. Thanks for looking.
Especially when you are addicted to taking pictures and you take them at every step like I do :D
