Sunshine Lakes

DSC08436.jpeg

There are three amazing little lakes out here at Sunshine Meadows, Banff Park: Rock Isle, Grizzly and Larix Lake. Every time we come out here, we do a loop hike around all the lakes. Kinda like hitting a home run, 1st lake, 2nd lake, and 3rd lake; then back home to the open air chair lift. Up at the top here you will run into other hikers, but not crowds and crowds. Reason being, in order to access this area, it requires a gondola/lift ticket (which isn’t cheap) and a park pass. The gov is double dipping on this one! Thanks for stopping by.

Double ticket? Lol way to milk people with the parks!

Can you go to the island in the middle of the lake? It would be cool to explore it!

You can. Only a quick swim from the shoreline.

I think the high ticket price is perfectly justified considering the stunning views. It's totally worth it. It's a truly beautiful place, like a little paradise in the middle of a dense forest.

You are probably right, but the gondola tickets do sting a bit, especially if there are 3 or 4 of you..

The view is amazing so I think it deserves a ticket even if it's expensive

Still worth it, even paying extra for the tickets.

Absolutely gorgeous photos. I could imagine the double fee would be annoying but honestly seems worth it for the views and the trails.

The first and second images of that "island" gives me the impression of a tree castle with those tall pointed trees. Are they pine trees?
It must be a wonderful adventure to visit all three lakes in one visitation :)

We usually come here every other summer, so much fun. I think there are some pines, but not sure. Thanks for looking.
