Squirrels ‘N Fall

Lookie here, another friendly squirrel jumping around just by the hiking trail. It is amazing to watch these little critters move around trees and branches — they are super quick on their feet, and it seems they never fall either. At least I have never seen one fall, have you? On this particular outing there were several squirrels and birds out and about. I never was able to get close enough to get any decent bird shots, but this squirrel was being cooperative for the camera. Well enough of the squirrel photography, got to get a move on and finish this hike before its get dark! Thanks for stopping by.

That's a good angle and clear picture of a healthy squirrel. Sorry to tell but when it comes to squirrel, they are a good source of protein. Back in the day, I engage with a small game. It's meat taste like a lamb meat, bit rubbery but tasty. Fried squirrel is my favorite. For more humane approach, shot in the head is recommended, for them not to suffer more. Instant death upon impact.

Is it common to eat squirrel in the Philippines? Doesn't seem like there would be much meat to fill one up.

I their their feets are adapted to actually holding on to trees and adapted to always climbing, and they're fast too. Looks like the squirrel is the main population of animal in these hike area

I love red squirrels they are such characters, unfortunately we have only mostly got greys in the UK. The reds are confined to a few sanctuaries.

Those little red squirrels are fun to watch! We have Grey squirrels here and I once saw one fall off a tree branch into the river right in front of my canoe! They are good swimmers when they need to be.

Man I don’t know how you manage to capture the contrast so well that the black and white shots seem to have colour.

With the third winter upon us, I am really looking forward to a little more green in the trees along the trail
