Spring in Banff

What is the next best thing to a Summer or Fall in Banff you might ask? If you guessed a Spring in Banff, that would be correct. Typically Springtime in Banff is sort of a transitional season or time of year. The snow is melting off the lakes, and the trails are drying off, but still muddy. The afternoon temperatures are warming up, yet evenings still cool mostly. One other thing that stands out, is that the tourists/crowds are at a minimum (at least compared to Summer and Fall). What are you waiting for — go visit Banff! Thanks for stopping by.

You could fish there? In summer should be nice to sit there and eventually do a swim

Yes, but I don't believe they would allow it, as it is inside a national park.

Is it just my eyes, or is it that the water is frozen/iced even though the sun is shining so seriously?

The sun was out in full force that day, yet the ice is still melting.

Ice must have some very strong thick layer for it to still be melting gradually under such harsh sun

Thing is though, temperatures at the top are quite a bit cooler than surface level.

Great shots! That ice is looking a little thin to walk on now! I like the third shot with the striated and weathering rocks, beautiful. The last one was also fantastic with the walk down the pine tree lined road. What a pretty place! Are you headed there again this weekend?

I'll be heading to British Columbia in the coming weeks, but won't be back here for awhile. Thanks for stopping by.
