Rugged Mountains

DSC06480.jpeg

Just some simple mountain shots for you today. This is where black and white photography really starts to shine. The mountains look great in colour, but take away the colour and the contrast really brings out the ruggedness of the mountains. Don’t you think? I wonder what this area looked like one thousand years ago? Makes you wonder. Too bad there was not a “way back machine” one could look at, going back in time, exploring our world and how it used to look in days gone by. Cool eh! One can dream. Photos taken from the Plain of six glacier’s hiking trail, last July.

some of the shots are so perfect, your second photo shot in black and white looks so beautiful with a little water visible in the middle of use, an extraordinary view

Love them both ways, black/white and color, so nice and yeah that would be nice to go back in time and see what everything looked like many years ago. Great captures my friend.

Each has their own beauty and because the shots are always beautiful, it wouldn't matter anyways. So black or coloured, I love them still.

The mountains are really looking so rugged and imposing, like they are growing to meet with the skies. It's beautiful.

A black & white photo looks like it's painted.
You're right, the contrast really brings out the ruggedness of the mountains.
