Red

A couple more photos to share of the “Red” rocks, here at Red Rock Canyon (a very appropriate name for this place, wouldn’t you say?). The canyon water was so warm, that many fellow hikers/tourists doffed their shoes and waded straight in. I kind of did want to wade in myself, but didn’t, as I’m the photographer — the guy who has to capture all the “action” lol. Hey someone’s got to do it, and I do enjoy every moment of it! Photos captured inside Waterton Nantional Park, Alberta, Canada. Thanks for stopping by.

This canyon is just so great, it looks like blood in the water

Fantastic location! on my 1st look I guessed it was some red algae, but its not - just granite rocks? Beautiful. ☘️

It appears that they are “argillite”. Thanks!

What a pretty place, and it's nice that the water is relatively warm. It must be such a slow flowing waterway that the water has time to warm up, or there is a hot spring upstream. A hot spring might even explain some of the colorization. What gorgeous place! Are you headed back to Waterton this year?

Hmmmm, maybe maybe not, haven't finalized plans yet. May even head out to Newfoundland.

As usual my friend, your shots are always interesting to look at. This time I am interested in the second picture, clear water accompanied by red and dark rocks creates a very beautiful contrast, full of character.
