Off to New Castle Island

Vancouver Island - day three. Today’s plan was to take a ferry to New Castle Island, otherwise known as “Saysutshun” island (which it was changed to in 2021, in honour of the indigenous folks). The weather was wonderful and very hot actually. The departure point was from the Nanaimo harbour, and it only took about 15 minutes by ferry to get there — a bit shorter than expected. Our ferry was called the “Grey Selkie”. Once we arrived, the plan was to hike around the entire island, which is approximately 8 kilometres or about a two hours give or take. Thanks for stopping by.
