Ocean Layers

DSC09463.jpeg

I know some of you live close to the ocean, so seeing ocean photography is nothing that special, but to me a bonafide “landlubber”, it is unique and very cool to experience. I could sit here all day taking photos! Only problem is that we are only here in Tofino for the afternoon, and have to make it back to the other side of the island hopefully before it gets dark (I hate driving at night). The highway that connects the east to the west is a challenging trek. Winding, sharp curves and drastic elevation changes. Not the kind of road you want to be on after dark! Next time, we may have to spend a few days on the west coast. Thanks for stopping by.

I'm not too far from the sea, 1 hour, yet I'll sit there all days on the rock so see it and the waves!

Lucky you! Someday will need to move a little closer to the ocean.

Even in black and white, this has an apotheosis of abstraction and movement!... Applause!

The layers of waves are incredibly beautiful. Cool 👍 You came and took the photo at the right time.

It seemed to work, even in black and white. Thanks.

Too bad you had to drive back, that really is a beautiful place. But driving those kind of roads at night is dangerous, you made the right call. I would stay there by the beach next time so you can hear the waves roll in all night long. There is nothing quite like that sound!

Beautiful shots, it had quite a few waves rolling in there that day!

The waves were active and bigger than I had imagined (first time visit). Next time we go, it will be for the afternoon.

I share a similar sentiment to you when it comes to seeing the ocean. I’ve always been more of a city person myself so it’s always nice to see nature captured in such a real way. Nothing compares to seeing the ocean in person but still, your pictures get pretty dam close. Makes me realize I need a vacation 😆

Yes we all need to take regular breaks and vacations to keep sane! Looking forward to my next ocean visit later on in the year. Thanks for stopping by.

Love the photos ☺️ and love the waves…just sitting there, watching them, and life already feels good. But yes…unfortunately I need to drive for 4 hours to see them.

That is shorter than what I need to drive to get to the waves. Not always possible to live by the ocean.

I haven't been to the beach in over a year, and seeing this made me really want to go. Great shots!

That is a long time. You live far from the ocean?

It's only a couple of hours away, but sometimes you put it off until the next weekend and then it never happens... This year I hope to go several times! 😃🌴🌊

Though I am commenting so late, the ocean looks so frightening because of the water wave, it so alarming traveling on the sea with this type of wave. I believe you get home safely.

The ocean is intimidating somewhat, especially if you are neither surfer or swimmer.

Hmmm 🥺, that's the reason why I don't like traveling on such place.
