Kootenay Photographay
We discovered a “new” spot to hike last year, and it is called Napika. Nestled in the mountains east of Kootenay park is this lovely place. The best part of the entire hike was the remoteness of the experience. We virtually only ran into about four other people that afternoon — just the way I like it. It felt like we had this entire playground to ourselves! In a few weeks we are heading back for round two of this place and I can hardly wait! By the way, how is your Summer going? Thanks for stopping by.

Very beautiful and brightful pictures ♥️, the environment looks very cool and calm. Dear ride on 👍♥️.
It was very enjoyable thanks.
Your welcome dear ♥️
A niche place then! That's good, you are one of the few seeing those gems
I love the picture of the terrain path in the forest, gives wild sense!
Love them gems of a spot. It definitely was a wonderful spot, and will be heading back again for sure.
Magnificent hiking place!
How many people are there in this "We"?
We usually means two of us, but sometimes more, depending on the trip.
Sometimes it also feels dangerous when you are between the forest around trees because wild animals can attack you, depending on the place where you are. And the view of hills is too crazy love the photos
We always carry bear spray with us, so that makes us feel as safe as we need to be. Thanks for looking.
The beauty of this area is amazing. I hope you visit this area again soon, my friend.👏👏👏🙏🙏🙏🙏
Thank you.
The place looks so beautiful and well-maintained. Being there must be very relaxing.
The trails are manicured very nicely, and are used in the winter for cross country skiing and fat biking.
Having this entire playground to yourselves means having fun exploring the area. I like remote places that are seldom visited by people, the energy/atmosphere is different, in a great way!
Summer is going okay, rain fluctuates with hot sunny days, very atypical.
Indeed, my private playground is sort of what it felt like.
Any special plans for the rest of august?
Nothing much other than paying more visits to the beach just to observe more sunsets. I've not done that in awhile :)
How about yours?
Another trip out to BC is our plan!
It's a very beautiful place, but it seems they allow people to actually build or own houses in this area? I can see some house in the horizon
This area is sort of a mountain resort with a building or two on it. Outside of provincial jurisdictions.
I can see why you're excited to get back, it's a beautiful place. Some great trails through the pine trees, awesome mountain background. Looks like fun!
I wish I had the energy to get out this summer, but dealing with a couple health issues. Hopefully by next year I'll be back to 100%!
Rest up, heal up and get ready for 2026!
Never heard of it before, but now it’s shot straight to my must hike in the future list. Something about places that aren’t crowded makes the whole experience feel more personal. Also, I’m curious to ask if there's any wildlife encounters on the trail? Bears, mountain goats and my favorite, squirrels
Encounters are always likely, especially with squirrels. A bear encounter would be a rare occurrence, and we are always prepared with bear spray. Thanks for visiting.
Oh you've got bear spray that's awesome
