Kootenay Kliffs

DSC08563.jpeg

One of the highlights of our hike around this beautiful area were these towering cliffs; overlooking the Kootenay river. Carefully chiseled over years from water erosion — gorgeous in appearance. Never seen any cliffs as great as these. Then we have the turquoise coloured river flowing along side, and downward toward the Columbia river. Now pick up a couple of smooth stones and let’s skip a few rocks eh! Go ahead, you first. Thanks for stopping by... Oh by the way, have you gone on any great adventures this Summer? If so, do tell us about down below.

The cliffs are really cool, like they were carved by a magical artist.

The colours here are so calming. I’d probably sit there for hours just listening to the water and feeling the breeze.

I’ve never been to a place like that, but it makes me want to go hiking and try skipping rocks too.

At first, it present to be like just a Cliffs.. But I remember my Geography in school, anywhere there a Cliffs, there's a stream, river or a flow of water around the corner..

These stone looks shape and tempting to touch, so I have take one. lols

That is pretty much true, unless there is like a severe draught or something.

For me it's the stones I admire the most. The cliffs are incredible. The colors of the river and the way the rocks are shaped make this place look magical. Perfect area for a movie set too

Those are truly nice shots and a beautiful place. It is astounding to see some vegetation on a gravel soil like that.

Life finds a way, irregardless of soil conditions.

What a great spot to spend some time just hanging out and enjoying the sound of the beautiful water flowing and smelling the pines! I hope you tried skipping a couple of rocks while you were there. I really like how that third one came out, just such great colors. Then in mono it makes the clouds look more menacing than they really were. Cool effect! Any big plans for the upcoming weekend?

Camping may be in the cards for this weekend, but of course that is weather dependent. Thanks for stopping by for a look.

Awesome way to "pack everything there is to photograph" into a single landscape shot, and composed amazingly well!

I'm almost waiting for a Beer commercial to unfold. Idyllic temperate forest, crystal clear flowing rivers, delightful cabin in the woods, young Canadians mulling over a BBQ with beers in hand, and a stranger wearing an old goalie mask wielding a chainsaw.
