Kootenay

DSC00139.jpeg

On my way to “Dog Lake”, I pulled over into a picnic area beside the mighty Kootenay river. Wow, check out the turquoise colour of the water! What a gorgeous day it was for a picnic. The Kootenay river is approximately 780 kilometres (485 miles) long. What’s unique about this river is that it crosses the border into the US not only once but twice! One of my favourite rivers in the Canadian Rockies. Thanks for stopping by.

Wow, the color of the water is truly spectacular. The surrounding atmosphere also looks very calming.

Some of the most beautiful rivers you will ever see are in North America.

The color of the waters is fantastic, I've never seen a river with that color which is typical of the sea

Beautiful scenery. In this scorching heat, seeing water like this feels so soothing

The color of the water looks unreal, and magical. I don't know why we don't see a lot of people in these areas, this is definitely one of the places to stay and enjoy the beautiful scenery of nature

Right?! You'd expect to see more people. Lucky for me, only a few there at that time.

Wow, wonderful!! The sky, mountains, trees, and river in the same frame. The place is as amazing as the framing of your photo is.

What a gorgeous turquoise river. That glacial runoff sure is pretty isn't it? I love the pictures, especially the crooked tree in the last one. It even looks pretty cool in monochrome!

How's the vacation treating you so far? Any big hikes planned for today?

Finishing up the vacation today with an easy hike through the local community forest. Yesterday was a long five hour one that zapped a lot of energy out of my lol. All in all it was a great trip. Next trip is back to Waterton lakes park mid July.
