Into the Unknown

IMG_20240930_143400_Original.jpeg

Come, let’s go on a Journey through the Woods. It is always so exciting, when you encounter a winding downward trail, that then veers off into the unknown. I love them first time trails! The weather was virtually perfect for a Fall day, only light jacket needed, excellent. This particular hike was 8.7 kilometres in length (or 5.4 miles). On this one I was travelling solo (with bear spray in pocket of course), but luckily there were two other hikers just behind me, going at a slower pace, which worked out well as I am slow myself, primary due to the fact that I stop often for photos. It is always somewhat comforting knowing that there are a few others close by. Thanks for stopping by.

That is why I always carry bear spray in pocket. Puts you at ease — somewhat. Thanks for looking.

It sorta does look like a cross between a photo and a painting actually.

Well apart from the bears, being alone deep in the wood, anything can happen. There might be snakes or something else you cannot predict. Good pictures. Feels safe to have people around

Having a few people around is comforting, any more has the opposite effect. Maybe I'm too fussy lol.

Fallen leaves always faithfully accompany climbers along the trail, they provide encouragement for the climbers. Amazing shot, the first picture is amazing👍

Such a lovely contrast from the golden photos and the black and white. The birch trees really stand out.

The view is amazing my brother, it's like a fairy tale land, but on the other hand it's a bit scary if you travel alone there even though there's bear spray, But other wild animals are also scary, wolves being one of them.Happy to see your beautiful photography, I hope you are always healthy my brother and have a nice day .

Yeah, one has to be aware of any and all dangers lurking in the woods. Thanks for stopping by.

It really is that yellow brick road again, leading to who knows where? I like the colors for that alone! I know what you mean, sometimes it's nice to have people around in areas that are known to harbor predators. I prefer to not prospect along either, you never know... Bear spray is a must and a smart thing to carry. Many times when I've been alone hiking I get an eerie feeling, and I know it's time to turn around. I think we really do have that sense that something isn't right, one that's not yet defined but very real.

Yeah, sometimes I find myself scanning constantly in all directions, and then when I "snap out" of that eerie kind of feeling, just go back to enjoying the nature, at least until the next bout of "eerie feeling".
