Grizzly Lake

Here we are rounding 2nd, or the second lake in our hiking circuit this afternoon at Sunshine Meadows. This is Grizzly lake, the smallest of the three lakes. In my opinion, it is the least impressive of the three, but still a beauty of a lake though. Why is it called Grizzly lake? Likely because of the Rocky Mountain bears and grizzlies in the general area. It does make you think about possible bear encounters as you hike in the area. Bear spray in pocket is a definite must have. It does give you peace of mind to have it in your pocket. It would be nice to see one of these great bears, but only if a safe distance away. Have you encountered any wild bears while out in nature?

It is absolutely true as my friend said. We must protect nature as much as possible.

The lake is beautiful and it goes very smooth with the clouds. I always love the black and white version

Today's view is a little different, the forest is not all green. But that doesn't reduce its beauty, it makes the impression even more beautiful.

At this point in the hike, there were more clouds than sun. No rain though. Thanks for looking.

It's tempting to take a dip in the clear water. But maybe it's too cold 😅

Yeah, anytime we are out hiking in nature, in the Rockies, it is best to bring along bear spray for sure. Thanks for stopping by.

Being the least impressive of the three, it is still so attractive!

I like the small Hike path around the lake area.. well it'll be actually nice to see some grizzly, but I wouldn't especially with the danger of being attacked even While holding a spray.

I agree with that. Would love to see one a safe distance away, like across a river or something like that. Close, but safe!

A bear spray? 😶 what does it do? and how do you use it?

If a bear gets close, you can release the spray at the bear. The spray has pepper in it and in a perfect world the bear will hate that scent and run away..

Better not to have any bears approaching, so that we can both respect our space. I know the forest even has a name, but please let me admire it without a close encounter. And if the meeting happens, just because it does, 🤣 hopefully it won't be windy and I have to use the spray.... Lol.
