Frozen Lake Minnewanka

IMG_0233.jpeg

Yesterday we drove out to Banff National Park, located inside Alberta, Canada. The temperature was well above freezing, but that doesn’t mean the lake ice has melted yet, far from it actually. In fact here at Lake Minnewanka, the lake was still mostly frozen over. Mix in the sun beating down (and me in my shorts), and the fresh Spring air — what a gorgeous sight and experience it was. I’m sure glad we decided to make Lake Minnewanka our first stop of the day. Thanks for stopping by.

This portion of the lake was yes, there is another area nearby which is almost all melted. Go figure. Thanks.

Great pictures of a frozen lake and stunning mountain at the back. How mesmerizing living in a place with that kind of view.

Beautiful sight indeed, I check the frozen areas you mentioned from the pictures and it feels like it must've been really cold. Although the sun was out, so it balances the air and weather.
Have you completely replaced the Huawei with the iPhone 16?

Living in Durban, South Africa, in a tropical climate, being at a frozen lake wearing shorts sounds like a very brave thing to do...LOL! I love you photos👍!

What a beautiful mountain shot with all of the peaks. That's a nice mountain, not one I would climb by any means though. That lake is still very frozen. Are those ice fishing housed on the lake? Great pictures, glad you had a chance to get out and enjoy the outdoors!

Hmmm..maybe, but in the summer they are used for the boat tours. Felt great to get in some proper mountain time!

Black and white photography is great usually, but in this case the colour photography stands out. It does more justice to the majestic snow-capped mountains. Great photography!
