“Bluebird” Trail

IMG_0472.jpeg

Today we went on another hike in East Kootenay, British Columbia. The destination was Wycliffe Butte, and the weather was perfecto, at around 25°C. Nothing very strenuous today, more of a leisurely nature walk you might say. The view from the Butte was pretty decent with the Rocky Mountains and Purcell range nearby. On the way back, we took the Bluebird trail along the fence line. There were several birdhouses just like this one along the perimetre. The Rocky Mountain Naturalists really went out of their way to attract birds to the area. We did encounter a few birds, but I don’t think they were actually Bluebirds. Thanks for stopping by.

Other than a bit of elevation gain, it was a relaxing nature walk.

The last picture is a dandelion right?

25° is a perfect temperature for a walk there under the sun, we had 32° here yesterday

Any bird nest inside those houses?

Well, I saw a few birds coming and going in the neighborhood, but did not look closely inside. I assume there were some.

These were large dandelions as far as I know.

25° is good enough for climbing. As you said, it's like a walk in nature :)
Very interesting photos 📸

Any hotter and it would be getting uncomfortable, at least for my liking. Thanks for looking.

That's a huge vast land. Why are there wire meshes that acts as a sort of fence? Is that because of wild animals?

I would say the fences are to keep out humans with their recreational vehicles/motorbikes etc, and or to mark the property owner's territory.

What a perfect day for hiking. 25°C is ideal weather for exploring. Love that the Rocky Mountain Naturalists put up those birdhouses, such a thoughtful way to support local wildlife. East Kootenay has some amazing trails I must say

An ideal temperature, even a touch cooler would be welcome. Those naturalists do a swell job of looking after the wildlife!

That's a great temperature for outdoors activity, glad the weather is cooperating with your plans. That's a nice scenic area with the bird houses along the way. They've really put a lot of effort into making it look beautiful. Keep up the hiking and sharing these awesome pictures!
